Nashik, Aug 12 (PTI) A Bangladeshi couple was arrested for allegedly entering India illegally, a Nashik Police officer said on Wednesday.
According to police, acting on a tip-off that a Bangladeshi man and a woman had infiltrated India illegally and were on their way to Pune from Nashik Road bus stand, the police apprehended Mohammed Sakib Molla and his wife.
No valid travel documents were found with them during the investigation, police said.
A case was registered with Nashik Road police station on Tuesday.
“The couple had come to Nashik by train and were going to Pune by bus. We have found some documents with them, including Bangladeshi identity cards and a birth registration certificate which prove that they are Bangladeshi citizens,” said DCP
