A Bengaluru couple has shared a look inside the housing society where they live, giving people an idea of what a monthly rent of Rs 60,000 can offer in the city. Their video highlighted not just the apartment itself, but also the facilities and conveniences available within the residential complex.
The couple, Radhika and Ekansh, explained that moving into the society was not an easy financial decision. They had previously lived in a standalone 2BHK apartment, and shifting to a more expensive housing society meant incurring higher monthly costs. However, they said the benefits they now enjoy have changed how they view the additional expense.
The Society Offers More Than Housing
In a video shared on Instagram, the couple took viewers through different
parts of the residential complex. The text on the clip read, “This is what 60K rent gets you in Bangalore.”
According to them, the society is spread across two levels. The podium level is designed as a community space where children can play and residents can spend time together. Below it is a road that stretches for around two kilometres around the complex. Lined with large trees, the pathway is used for walking, running and cycling.
The couple also pointed out that the society has a separate dog park. Since pets are not allowed on the podium level, the dedicated space gives them an area to play and exercise freely.
Daily Essentials Are Close At Hand
Apart from recreational spaces, the society also houses several services within its premises. The couple showed viewers a cafe, grocery stores, a stationery shop, a medical store, an Apollo clinic, a salon and an organic store.
They also highlighted practical features such as two large parking levels, saying residents do not have to deal with cramped parking spots. The video also featured a spacious hall that is sometimes used for exhibitions and community events.
In the caption, Radhika and Ekansh reflected on their decision to move there. “Earlier, we used to live in a 2BHK flat, in a standalone apartment. So moving here was a tough decision, financially,” they wrote. They added, “After living here for a few years, we cannot go back. The place provides us with so much peace from the hustling city outside.”
“Living here does burn a hole in our pockets, but we have now consciously decided to “invest” in our quality of life in the PRESENT. Also, the excess cost of living here, instead of a relatively simpler place elsewhere is around 2.5 lacs a year, which we think is totally worth it, for the significant improvement in our day to day quality of life,” the couple added.
Social Media Users Weigh In
The video prompted several reactions from social media users, many of whom felt the rent was justified given the facilities on offer.
“Fantastic place to live!” wrote a user. “Then it’s worth the money. The amount spent on fuel alone is saved a lot for these facilities,” commented another.
“Gurgaon builders really need to learn how to build a well-planned society,” said a person. A comment read, “This is not society! This is a small city!” Someone said, “Everything comes at a price, mere Bhai.”
