Sultanpur (UP), Sep 5 (PTI) A 72-year-old man died after a mud wall collapsed on him while he was lying on a cot in a village under Dostpur police station area here, police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred at around 9.30 pm on Friday in Khalispur Dingur village, they said.
The deceased has been identified as Harish Narayan Mishra (72), a resident of the Khalispur Dingur village, who had gone to rest on a cot in his kutcha house after dinner on Friday night. The sudden collapse of the wall trapped him.
Alerted by the sound, neighbours and family members rushed to the spot. They pulled Harish out of the debris and immediately took him to the community health centre in Dostpur, where doctors declared him dead.
SHO Narad Muni Singh said the body
has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
Local residents said the incessant rain in the area might have weakened the structure of the wall, leading to its collapse. PTI COR NAV PRK
