‘It Is Biker’s Fault’: Internet Reacts To The Horrible Accident
The clip has led to a large discussion online with many users sharing their views on who might have been responsible. A number of people pointed out that the biker did not pause or check the traffic before crossing.
One user commented, “The biker is at fault here. If you’re crossing a road, you must stop your vehicle & look around. If another vehicle is approaching, either let it pass & then move, or make sure you can cross safely before it gets close. People nowadays, don’t even follow the basics of driving.”
Another wrote, “Whose fault is it? Bus or biker? Tip: 1. Vehicles plying on a major roadway have right-of-way over vehicles joining, or crossing from minor/side road.”
Someone else added, “This is not the bus driver’s fault,” while another viewer said, “Biker is at big mistake. The main road is right of way (Most Indians don’t even know what it is), the traffic coming on main road has right to pass first, the lane joining in from colony has to wait, see if there is vehicle on main road then let them pass, only then cross.”
“People should learn it’s their responsibility to check the road before crossing rather than blindly crossing the road and hoping nothing goes bad,” a person pointed out.
“The motorcycle has a dotted line, bus has the right of way. Even without a dotted line, you’re supposed to give way at T junction. Average Indian drivers are too ignorant to know these basic driving rules,” read another comment.
What Is Known So Far
According to a report in Free Press Journal, the couple survived the accident. They were injured in the collision and there is no information yet on whether a complaint was filed. The police have not responded to the video.
