The Viking Row fever from the FIFA World Cup has continued as Norway fans busted out the iconic move during a Spiderman movie premiere, with the video going viral on social media.
Social media influencer Ole Froystad has been at the centre of the Viking Row craze since last month, with his videos gaining widespread attention online. Invited to the premiere of Tom Holland’s latest Spider-Man film, Froystad seized the moment by leading fans in the iconic Viking Row celebration.
Froystad spoke to ESPN earlier this summer, revealing that he came up with the idea for the Viking Row alongside a group of Norway supporters. He admitted the celebration was inspired by Iceland’s famous Thunder Clap.
The Viking Row shot to global fame during Norway’s FIFA
World Cup campaign, with entire sections of Norwegian fans performing the celebration inside the stadiums. The footballers later joined in after games, using it to celebrate their wins with the supporters.

Footage of Norway supporters performing the now-famous ‘Viking Row’ during the FIFA World Cup transitioned into K-pop sensation BTS performing their hit song Dynamite with football-themed lyrics.
The spectacle was followed by a surprise appearance from Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis and his on-screen sidekick, Coach Beard, played by Brendan Hunt, during the halftime show of the final.
Erling Haaland, 25, whose team were defeated by England in the quarter-finals, now has far more Instagram followers than City’s official account.
One of his posts featured the ‘Viking row’, which will be one of the abiding images of the FIFA World Cup.
