Royal Challengers Bengaluru fast bowler Rasikh Salam Dar entered his name in the history books on Sunday (May 31) by becoming only the second uncapped player to take three or more wickets in an IPL final. The 26-year-old cricketer bowled four overs for the Rajat Patidar-led side in the IPL 2026 final on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad against Gujarat Titans and picked up three wickets for 27 runs in four overs.

His superb show with the ball helped RCB restrict GT to 155/8 in 20 overs after Rajat Patidar opted to bowl first upon winning the toss.
The record for the best bowling figures in an IPL final by an uncapped player is held by Karanveer Singh. Karanveer bowled four overs
for Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab) in the final of IPL 2014 against Kolkata Knight Riders and dismissed four batters for 54 runs.

In the final of 2013 IPL, Dwayne Bravo also picked up four wickets for Chennai Super Kings against Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Rasikh opened his wicket account on Sunday with the wicket of Nishant Sindhu on the sixth ball of the eighth over. The left-handed batter from Haryana was caught by Devdutt Padikkal. For his second wicket, he dismissed Rahul Tewatia on the first ball of the 17th over, and his third wicket came in the form of Rashid Khan.
For RCB, apart from Rasikh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar also impressed with his bowling in the IPL 2026 final.
The 36-year-old fast bowler from Meerut bowled four overs and picked up two wickets for 29 runs.
The two wickets by Bhuvneshwar in the final helped him extend his tally of wickets to 28 in IPL 2026. He is the joint-highest wicket-taker in this year’s IPL.
