The India U-19 team had a virtual interaction with Sachin Tendulkar ahead of their crucial U-19 World Cup Super Six match against Pakistan.
“In what was an invaluable experience, the next generation got insights and perspectives on the important ingredients for success and longevity in an ever evolving sport,” BCCI said in a post on ‘X’ along with pictures of the virtual meet.

The BCCI also shared pictures of the entire
U19 team with their support staff, including head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar, bowling coach Sunil Joshi, and fielding coach Subhadeep Ghosh, along with Tendulkar in the background. Former India cricketer and Head of Cricket at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE), VVS Laxman, was also seen in the pictures.
The interaction focused not only on technical skills and maintaining fitness but also emphasised the importance of staying focused, disciplined, humble, and grounded in success.
Tendulkar holds the record for participating in the most ICC Cricket World Cups (1992–2011), during which he set the all-time record for total runs scored with 2,278 in 45 matches.
He is the only player to appear in six World Cup tournaments, concluding his career by winning the 2011 edition.
Laxman wrote on his ‘X’ account, “With the Indian U19 team in Zimbabwe for the #U19WorldCup. Hungry, focused and eager to learn. Embracing the challenge, growing with every session and proud to represent the country on the world stage.”

India Vs Pakistan – A Virtual Knockout!
On Friday, England secured a semifinal spot with a 65-run victory over New Zealand, while Afghanistan also advanced to the last four with a 191-run win over Ireland. This makes Sunday’s encounter between India and Pakistan a virtual knockout, with only one team from Group 2 progressing to the knockouts.
India, led by Ayush Mhatre, achieved a massive 204-run victory over Zimbabwe in their first Super Six game earlier this week at the Queens Sports Club. The win was powered by a splendid century from Vihaan Malhotra and a fine fifty from Abhigyan Kundu.
In contrast, Pakistan suffered a major setback before the crucial clash against India as wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Shayan was ruled out of the tournament. Shayan was struck on the nose while keeping to a fast bowler during a scenario-based practice match. He was taken to the hospital, where X-rays confirmed a fracture.
