Vikrant Massey, Lakshya To Begin Dostana 2 Shoot In February? Here's What We Know

It is no secret that Vikrant Massey and Lakshya will soon unite to work on Dostana 2. While fans eagerly await their on-screen camaraderie, it has now been reported that the two actors are likely to begin shooting for the project soon. If a report by Filmfare is to be believed, Vikrant and Lakshya might begin the Dostana 2 shoot next month, i.e. in February 2026. However, there is no official confirmation of this as of now.

Interestingly, Dostana 2 marks National Award winner Vikrant Massey’s first-ever collaboration with Dharma Productions. Known for his critically acclaimed performances in films like A Death in the Gunj, Haseen Dillruba and the recent 12th Fail, Massey’s entry into the glossy Dharma universe has sparked curiosity about what

direction the film will now take.

Earlier, Dostana 2 was set to feature Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor. However, both stars are no longer a part of the project. It was said that Kartik was ousted from the project because of his unprofessional behaviour.

However, in 2024, Kartik opened up about the controversy and told Lallantop, “I was silent when the news came about and I choose to stay silent even now. I am 100% focused on my work and when controversies of such nature happen, I stay calm about them. I don’t get involved a lot in them and I don’t have to prove anything to anyone by getting involved.”

The OG Dostana Movie 

The original Dostana movie, released in 2008, was directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions. The movie stars Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. It also featured Bobby Deol, Kirron Kher and Boman Irani in supporting roles.

The film follows two straight men who pretend to be gay to share an apartment with a woman, only to both fall in love with her. Dostana was a commercial success.
