Ekta Kapoor-backed digital captive reality show Lock Upp, which premiered in 2022, has been renewed for another season, and this time it is even bigger. Now, ahead of its June 27 premiere on Netflix, a list of tentative contestants joining the show has surfaced, featuring several high-profile names.
As per The Indian Express, Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja, popular TV actress Shivangi Joshi, and actress Shilpa Shinde, who made headlines following her confession about filing false sexual harassment charges against Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain producer Sanjay Kohli, are on board to be part of the reality show.
In the promo for Lock Upp Season 2, host Farah Khan spoke about a celebrity who recently underwent a dramatic weight-loss transformation and would
be a part of the show. This hint made fans believe that she was talking about popular TV actor Ram Kapoor. Reports of Ranveer Allahbadia being a part of the show have also surfaced.
Other names that have been making headlines are Splitsvilla contestants Yogesh Rawat and Akanksha Choudhary, former Bigg Boss contestants Priyank Sharma, Vikas Gupta, Rashami Desai, Puneet Superstar, Archana Gautam, Urvashi Dholakia, Pranit More, Asim Riaz, Kusha Kapila, and Harshad Chopra.
While the last season of the show was hosted by Kangana Ranaut and won by Munawar Faruqui, this one will have Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh taking on the hosting duties.
About the show
Hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan as the formidable ‘Jailers’, Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa places 14 well-known personalities as ‘inmates’ inside a controlled, high-pressure jail unlike anything seen before in Indian reality entertainment.
Cut off from the outside world, stripped of comforts, and subjected to increasingly challenging tasks, the inmates must navigate shifting alliances and difficult choices where every move can flip the narrative overnight.
But this isn’t about inmates surviving the jail. It’s about perception, confession, and everything in between. The show allows inmates to reveal the stories beyond their image. Because in Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa, truth isn’t just power, it’s a currency that can set you free.
Across six weeks, inmates will face daily tasks, status hierarchies, chargesheets, punishments, and eliminations designed to test resilience and pure survival instincts continuously. As pressure builds, secrets spill, alliances shift, and nothing stays predictable for long.
