Meerut, Sep 2 (PTI) Police have arrested three alleged members of an inter-district gang involved in illegal arms trading in Meerut’s Partapur area and recovered a pistol, two country-made guns, four cartridges and a motorcycle, an official said Wednesday.
Circle Officer Ram Prakash said the accused — Himanshu Lodhi, Shivam Sharma alias Awara Pandit and Vansh Lodhi — were arrested near Adhyayan Cut while allegedly trading illegal arms.
“Police recovered a .32-bore pistol, two .315-bore country-made guns, four live cartridges and a Java 42 Bobber motorcycle,” he said.
“During interrogation, the accused allegedly told police they bought weapons from a man named Devendra and sold pistols for Rs 70,000-80,000 and country-made guns for Rs 9,000-10,000,”
he added.
A case has been registered under the Arms Act and relevant provisions of the BNS. Devendra and others linked to the network are being traced, police said. PTI COR KIS SHS SHS
