One of the most prominent feuds in Bollywood right now is between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar after the Dhurandhar star allegedly made an abrupt exit from Don 3. Now, in a new YouTube video, Tanmay Bhatt took a playful jab at the dig while in conversation with Varun Dhawan. The clip has gone viral across social media platforms.
Tanmay Bhatt said, “Varun, anyone who has ever worked with you has always said that despite being a big Bollywood star, you’re still like professional, committed, reliable. Which is incidentally exactly the kind of actor that Farhan Akhtar is looking for right now. I don’t know, maybe you should…”
Tanmay’s comment left everyone in splits, including Varun Dhawan. Many on social media wondered if Tanmay was indirectly
calling Ranveer unprofessional and unreliable, or if he was just making a joke about the actor’s ongoing row with Farhan Akhtar. Tanmay also took a playful dig at Varun for previously comparing Dilwale with Inception. Varun clarified that his statement was just a joke.
As for the feud between Ranveer and Farhan, according to multiple online reports, Ranveer Singh exited Don 3 due to creative differences with the makers. Some reports claimed that Ranveer wanted Don 3 to be more violent. Several reports also suggested that Ranveer was unhappy with repeated delays in production and the absence of a locked final script.
What initially appeared to be a routine casting change then escalated into a legal matter, with Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment demanding Rs 45 crore in compensation and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issuing a non-cooperation directive against the actor. However, this directive was heavily criticised by other film and television bodies, and Ranveer received massive support from Bollywood.
Ranveer Singh even sent a legal notice to FWICE, and the film body revoked its directive. It was even reported that Salman Khan had tried to intervene and solve the dispute, given his fondness for the Akhtars. However, it was later clarified that there was no truth to these claims and Salman hadn’t called either Ranveer or Farhan.
Meanwhile, as for Varun Dhawan, the actor is currently seen in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The comedy film is directed by his father, David Dhawan, and stars Mrunal Thakur, Mouni Roy and Pooja Hegde among others. It is performing decently at the box office.
