Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch two major schemes for India’s agriculture and rural sector tomorrow, October 11. The schemes include the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and the Pulses Aatmanirbharta
Mission.
The schemes will be unveiled at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), and will also see the inauguration and foundation-laying of multiple projects worth over Rs 42,000 crore in the agriculture and allied sectors.
Announcing the event on social media, the Prime Minister said, “The country’s agriculture and rural sector is set to witness a new history tomorrow, October 11. In New Delhi, at around 10:30 AM, we will have the good fortune of the launch of the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and the Pulses Aatmanirbharta Mission. These schemes will not only strengthen efforts to increase yields in 100 low-productivity districts but also accelerate production of pulses.”
“In this special program, there will be an excellent opportunity for the inauguration and foundation laying of projects worth more than Rs 42,000 crore in the agriculture and related sectors. These will not only bring new prosperity to the lives of our farmer brothers and sisters, but will also further strengthen the resolve for a developed and self-reliant India,” he added.

According to an official statement, the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana, with an outlay of Rs 24,000 crore, aims to enhance agricultural productivity, promote crop diversification, improve irrigation facilities, and strengthen post-harvest infrastructure at the panchayat and block levels. It will also provide access to short- and long-term credit in 100 selected districts.
The second scheme, the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, with a budget of Rs 11,440 crore, will focus on increasing pulse productivity, expanding cultivation areas, and improving the value chain through better procurement, processing, and storage.
During the event, the Prime Minister will interact with farmers, especially those engaged in pulse cultivation and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs). He will also distribute certificates to farmers certified under the National Mission for Natural Farming, MAITRI Technicians, and Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) that have been upgraded into Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs).
