Amala Akkineni, wife of South superstar Nagarjuna, got candid about her relationships with both her daughters-in-law. While Naga Chaitanya got married for the second time to actress Sobhita Dhulipala in December
2024 at an intimate ceremony in Hyderabad, her younger son Akhil Akkineni tied the knot with entrepreneur Zainab Ravdjee in June this year.
The 58-year-old actress, who has mostly kept her personal life under wraps, recently appeared on the YouTube channel Aval Vikatan and spoke at length about her bond with both her daughters-in-law. “I have wonderful daughters-in-law,” she said during the conversation, adding, “They are delightful, they help me relive, and I have the girls’ circle.”

Amala mentioned that although both her daughters-in-law are busy with their professional lives, they still make time for her, and together they enjoy some joyful moments. “They are very busy, but it’s good, because young people have an exciting life. It’s so good to be busy. But when I get some moments with them, we enjoy,” she explained. The actress also added that she is neither a “needy mother-in-law” nor a “needy wife”.

She also reflected on their sons, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni, praising them for their utmost respect for their father. “They have grown up to be amazing. They welcomed their son, Naga Chaitanya, in 1986. Following six years of marriage, the couple got separated in 1990 but continued co-parenting. In 1992, Nagarjuna married Amala. The couple welcomed their son Akhil Akkineni in 1994.

She was last seen on the screen in the Hindi–language comedy drama Tumse Na Ho Payega, directed by Abhishek Sinha and written by Nitesh Tiwari.
