Netflix’s superhit sci-fi horror drama, Stranger Things, is just one episode away from its conclusion. With Volume 2 of the show’s fifth and last season already streaming on the OTT platform from today, December 26, in India, fans are waiting with their bated breaths for the one last showdown between the heroes of Hawkins and the notorious Vecna.
After nearly nine years of thrills, mysteries, and monsters, Stranger Things is gearing up for farewell. The much-loved show is set to conclude with Season 5, Volume 3, which will comprise a single episode. Netflix has confirmed that the last episode will premiere on New Year’s Eve in the US and on New Year in India, officially ending the story of Hawkins and the Upside Down.

Volume 3: Release Date And Time
The fifth and final season has been rolled out in three volumes. Volume 1, which included four episodes, premiered on November 26. Volume 2 was released on Christmas (December 25) in the US, while it premiered on December 26 in India. It comprised episodes five, six, and seven. Now, all eyes are on the final chapter, titled Chapter 8: The Rightside Up. It is scheduled to drop at 8 PM ET on Wednesday, December 31, which is 6:30 AM IST on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 3: Runtime
Previously, the show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, revealed that the eighth and final episode runs 2 hours and 8 minutes, making it the season’s longest and one of the longest in the show’s history. On Instagram, Ross Duffer shared the official runtimes for the final four episodes. Episodes 5-7 run just over an hour each, while the finale is similar in length to a feature film.

Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 3: Theatrical Release Details
Besides catching the final showdown on Netflix, fans will have the opportunity to experience it in theatres as well. The streaming giant had announced that the final episode will be shown in over 500 theatres across the United States and Canada on December 31, 2025 and January 1, 2026. The theatrical run will begin simultaneously with the streaming release, giving fans a chance to watch the much-awaited ending on the big screen.
