The plot centres on a nationwide human trafficking case. Piles of missing-person files expose a chilling pattern: young women lured by false job offers, deceived into sham marriages, and forced into slavery before vanishing into a vast network of exploitation and deceit. At the heart of the investigation is DIG Vartika Chaturvedi (Shefali Shah), who begins connecting the dots between these disappearances and a system fueled by fear, greed, and silence.

As her probe deepens, one name is heard all across the city: Badi Didi (Huma Qureshi). Ruthless, elusive, and always one step ahead, she stands as the shadowy architect of the criminal empire Vartika, setting the stage for a gripping psychological duel between two formidable women.

Tanuj Chopra directs the show and co-wrote the drama with Mayank Tewari, Anu Singh Choudhary, Shubhra Swarup, Apoorva Bakshi, and Michael Hogan. The series also stars Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Sayani Gupta, Mita Vashisht, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Kelly Dorji in prominent parts. Huma Qureshi joins the cast this season as the antagonist, Badi Didi.
