Mrunal Thakur and Adivi Sesh-starrer action thriller Dacoit gets a new release date. The film was previously scheduled to release in December 2025, but due to Adivi Sesh’s injury, the release was pushed
to 2026. Confirming the date, Mrunal Thakur shared a poster of the highly anticipated film.
Taking to Instagram, the Son of Saardar 2 actress unveiled a poster of the film which featured Mrunal and Adivi Sesh in the middle of an action scene with the actor holding a gun. Sharing the picture, Thakur wrote, “Experience explosive drama with #DACOIT. Grand release worldwide on March 19th, 2026, in Hindi & Telugu.” The film will be clashing with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Love & War. Mrunal also shared the poster on her Instagram stories, heightening the anticipation among fans.

How Did the Fans React?
The poster of Dacoit garnered significant attention from fans and other celebrities who flooded the comment section with praises. Actor Maniesh Paul wrote, “Woohhooo,” followed by fire emojis. Adivi Sesh commented, “So excited about the world seeing what we have created together @mrunalthakur.” Among other celebs, Roshni Walia and Dhaval Thakur also showed love in the comments.
Fans seemed extremely excited about the film. One of them stated, “Congratulations on the new movie.” Another mentioned, “We are expecting something big,” while other comments read, “Can’t wait.”
Dacoit Plot and Cast
Directed by Shaneil Deo, Dacoit follows an angry convict who seeks vengeance against his former girlfriend who betrayed him. The film promises high-octane action and an electrifying cinematic experience, blending raw emotion, drama and a powerful performance by the actors. Alongside Mrunal Thakur and Adivi Sesh, the film features Anurag Kashyap in a pivotal role. Additionally, Adivi Sesh crafted the film’s story and screenplay with Shaneil Deo.
Previously, during an interview with Zoom, Adivi Sesh was seen opening up about the film’s mood and tone. Revealing the film to be “very muscular”, Adivi Sesh shared, “Every line has been discussed; each dialogue has been acted out with each other. I think it’s Shaneil’s vision that’s really sort of made it very contemporary.” He signed off, saying, “It’s a very American look at a very Indian story.” The film’s Gudi Padwa-Eid weekend release is expected to capture a large number of audiences with its fresh, adrenaline-charged story.
