The third round of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy saw a few recruits of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hogging the limelight. While Maharashtra’s Ramkrishna Ghosh pocketed a 7-wicket haul against Himachal
in Jaipur, Puducherry captain Aman Khan registered an unwanted bowling record on men’s List A cricket.
Aman & Co were smashed left, right, & center when they faced Jharkhand in Ahmedabad. Under the leadership of Kumar Kushagra, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 champions posted 368/7 in, riding on the captain’s century and some late fireworks by Anukul Roy and Md Kounain Quraishi.
The Puducherry skipper bore the maximum brunt, leaking runs at an economy rate of 12.30. Not only did he turn out to be the most expensive bowler of his team, but he also broke the record for the most runs conceded in a men’s List A fixture. Khan went past Arunachal’s Mibom Mosu, who previously held this record for his bowling figures of 0/116 against Bihar in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.
| Player | Bowling Figures | Team | Opposition | Year/Season |
| Aman Khan | 1-123 | Puducherry | Jharkhand | 2025/26 |
| Mibom Mosu | 0-116 | Arunachal Pradesh | Bihar | 2025/26 |
| Bass de Leede | 2-115 | Netherlands | Australia | 2023 |
| Patrick Brown | 0-114 | Derbyshire | Surrey | 2025 |
| Chetan Anand | 1-114 | Arunachal Pradesh | Tamil Nadu | 2022/23 |
| Michael Lewis | 0-113 | Australia | South Africa | 2005/06 |
The target of 369 never looked within Puducherry’s reach. Chasing a colossal score, Aman Khan & Co were bowled out for 235 in 41.4 overs, handing Jharkhand a comprehensive 133-run win.
Last month, the CSK picked Aman at Rs 40 lakh in the IPL 2026 mini auction.
Ghosh Claims A Fifer vs Himachal
While Aman Khan had a forgettable day, Maharashtra’s Ramakrishna Ghosh etched his name in record books. The fast bowler became only the 12th player to pick seven wickets or more in a Vijay Hazare Trophy game.
Ghosh delivered a standout performance with the ball, finishing with impressive figures of 7 for 42 from 9.4 overs as Maharashtra dismissed Himachal Pradesh for 271 in their first innings.
Ghosh has enjoyed a strong start to the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26, having already taken three wickets apiece against Sikkim and Punjab earlier in the tournament.
