New Delhi, Aug 12 (PTI) Ghaziabad, Greater Noida and Noida International Airport are among the stations proposed for Namo Bharat services on the 72.44-kilometre Ghaziabad-Jewar corridor, according to station details shared by the NCRTC.
The corridor will have 11 stations providing Namo Bharat services, while 18 stations along the route will provide metro services, allowing commuters to travel by both regional rapid rail and local metro between Ghaziabad, Noida and the airport.
However, the corridor is still at the Detailed Project Report (DPR) stage, an official said.
The 72.44-kilometre corridor will connect Ghaziabad station on the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor with Noida International Airport at Jewar. Of the total length, around 71.5-km
will be elevated and 1.29-km underground, the corporation said.
The Namo Bharat stations proposed along the corridor are Ghaziabad South, Greater Noida Sector 2, Greater Noida Sector 3, Greater Noida Sector 12, Surajpur, Alpha-I, EcoTech-VI, Dankaur, YEIDA North (Sector 18), YEIDA Central (Sector 21) and Noida International Airport.
The metro stations include Siddharth Vihar, Greater Noida Sector 16C, EcoTech 12, Greater Noida West (Sector 4), Greater Noida Sector 10, Knowledge Park V, Police Lines Surajpur, EcoTech-2, Knowledge Park III, Omega-II, Phi-III, EcoTech-1E, EcoTech VIII, Dadupur, Junedpur, YEIDA Sector 17, YEIDA Sector 15 and YEIDA Sector 33, according to the proposed alignment.
The corridor is planned for a maximum operational speed of 180 kmph and is expected to reduce travel time between Ghaziabad, Noida and Noida International Airport to around 40-50 minutes.
The project aims to strengthen public transport connectivity across the National Capital Region by linking Ghaziabad to Greater Noida, the Yamuna Expressway area and the upcoming Noida airport, the official said.
Once developed, the corridor will provide an additional public transport option for passengers travelling between Ghaziabad, Noida and Noida International Airport and improve connectivity to several residential, commercial and upcoming infrastructure hubs along the route, he added. PTI SHB KSI KSI
