Parineeti Chopra Reveals How Amar Singh Chamkila Played Cupid Between Her And Husband Raghav Chadha

Parineeti Chopra is currently busy with her motherhood as she recently welcomed a baby boy with her husband, Raghav Chadha. Parineeti was last seen inImtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila, which starred her opposite

ace Punjabi singer and actor Amar Singh Chamkila. In her recent vlog, Parineeti revisited some BTS from the much-loved film.

Parineeti, while recalling shooting for Chamkila, shared that while filming, both the singers never lip-synced but were actually singing live on camera and said, “We never lip-synced; we used to sing live. The mics we were wearing recorded our actual singing. We never dubbed it in a studio. It was very challenging because it had never happened before, singers actually singing live on set.”

Recalling her off-camera equation with Diljit, Parineeti, while sharing a photo, shared, “Diljit said, ‘You become Rihanna,’ and I was acting like Rihanna, which was not happening at all, totally flop, and Diljit was playing Chamkila. We were both trying to act cool, and the whole set was laughing and going crazy.”

Parineeti and Raghav are the cutest couple, but did you know it’s Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila which played cupid between the two? Remembering how Imtiaz had to meet Raghav, the local MP, for approvals and logistics, Parineeti shared, “Back then, we didn’t even know each other. When the shoot happened in Punjab in 2023, that’s when I met Raghav. We met and started dating. Even today, we say that somewhere it’s because of Chamkila that Raghav and I got together.”

Speaking of Amar Singh Chamkila, released on April 12 last year, the film starred Diljit Dosanjh as the Punjabi singer and Parineeti Chopra as his second wife and singing partner Amarjot Kaur. The story revealed how Chamkila’s controversial songs and immense success ultimately led to his and Amarjot’s assassination in 1988.
