Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest outing Maa Inti Bangaaram appears to be finding steady support from audiences, with the film recording healthy growth at the box office over its first weekend. After opening on a promising note, the action drama picked up pace on its second day, signalling positive word of mouth for the film.
According to trade website Sacnilk, Maa Inti Bangaaram earned ₹6.57 crore on its second day in theatres. The increase comes after the film collected ₹5.35 crore on its opening day. With this, the film’s total India net collection has reached ₹11.92 crore, while its India gross stands at ₹13.95 crore.
The Day 2 performance marks a notable jump from its opening figures and suggests that audiences are continuing to turn up for the
Nandini Reddy directorial. The film has also managed to outperform the first-day collections of titles such as Yashoda, Ghaati and The Girlfriend.
Headlined by Samantha, the film revolves around Swarna, a woman trying to settle into married life while carrying secrets from her past. Swarna visits her husband Anirudh’s family and hopes to win them over despite her lack of cooking and homemaking skills. However, her carefully built life is thrown into turmoil when Karuna unexpectedly returns, forcing her to confront a chapter she would rather leave behind.
The film stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead role, alongside Diganth and Gulshan Devaiah. It has been directed by Nandini Reddy, created by Raj Nidimoru, and backed by Samantha, Raj and Himank Reddy Duvvuru under the banner of Tralala Moving Pictures.
The film had already made a strong impression globally, collecting more than ₹13 crore worldwide on its opening day. Reacting to the encouraging response, Samantha shared a note on X thanking viewers for their support.
“To see a film open so well on day one is hugely humbling and means the world to us. So very glad to see the day when audiences embrace a film irrespective of whether it is male-led or female-led. And it’s beautiful to see people show up wholeheartedly – from the young to the seniors – to cheer the film’s release.”
She further wrote, “The most heartening thing of all is seeing women contribute so heavily to the opening day. For the longest time, we’ve heard that theatrical openings are driven by male audiences. It’s wonderful to see the audience for cinema continue to grow and evolve. Our little production house delivered! Tra-la-laaaaaa.”
