New Delhi, Sep 12 (PTI) A 14-year-old boy was injured after a projected slab of a house collapsed on him while he was playing in a street in Delhi’s Prem Nagar area on Saturday, police said.
The boy suffered a head injury and was immediately taken to Acharya Bhikshu Hospital by his mother, where he received seven to eight stitches before being discharged, they said.
The incident took place around 11.30 am when the projected slab, or ‘chhajja’, of the house suddenly collapsed and fell on the boy, they added.
Police personnel reached the spot after being informed and secured the premises with safety tape as a precautionary measure to prevent any further mishap.
Officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the local councillor were also informed
and inspected the building, the police said.
The boy’s parents have said they do not wish to pursue any legal action against the house owner as the two families have known each other for around 40 years, the police said.
Further necessary precautionary measures have been taken at the spot, the police added. PTI SSJ APL APL
