Parents trust that when they send their children to school, they will receive proper guidance and learn the right lessons. But a recent video from a government school in Chhattisgarh has left many people
shocked and worried. The clip, filmed inside a primary classroom in Kogwar, shows an English lesson where the teacher, identified as Praveen Toppo, is writing wrong spellings on the blackboard while the students copy them without knowing anything is incorrect.
In the clip, while the children were learning the days of the week, the board showed spellings like “Farday” for Friday and “Saterday” for Saturday. The students repeated the words exactly as they were told. Another part of the video showed a similar problem during a lesson on body parts. The teacher had written “noge” instead of nose, “eare” for ear and “iey” for eye. The children again followed what the tutor said, without realising the mistakes. As per reports, after the clip circulated online, the teacher was removed from his position.

Along with writing noge, eare, iey, Farday and Saterday, the teacher also wrote Sanday instead of Sunday, Wensday instead of Wednesday, Manday for Monday and Tusday for Tuesday. The children, unaware of any mistakes, simply repeated every word the way it was taught to them.

Users Online Blame Weak System
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Take dictation of the District Education officer and you will feel like suspending the entire Government education system and Schools. It’s a super scam.”
“When the qualifications required for being a teacher are everything except teaching skills, when the employment of educators is based on reservation, reference of politicians, corruption, this is the education future generation will get. We only know when someone is caught,” a comment read.
One more added, “As long as reservations in jobs and promotion are there, the schools and government companies will continue to close down, public services will continue to suffer due to bad decision making. Hundreds of Government schools close down every year.”
District Education Officer Confirms Mistakes After Inspection
According to The Daily Jagran report, the District Education Officer asked for a proper inquiry after the issue came to light. A coordinator, M.R. Yadav, visited the school to check the situation and confirmed that the students were taught wrong spellings. After this, Yadav took action by suspending the assistant teacher Praveen Toppo right away. The school has 42 students and only two teachers, and now one of them is suspended.
Parents shared their worry, saying that if children grow up learning incorrect spellings, it could harm their future. They have asked the authorities to send another teacher to Kogwar Primary School so the students can get the right guidance.
