The 18th BRICS Summit hosted by India concluded Sunday at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with several world leaders marking their participation in the two-day event. Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian were among those in attendance.
Unseen footage from the summit has now surfaced, capturing rare yet light-hearted moments between the dignitaries present at the BRICS Summit. The video showed the leaders beaming, chit-chatting, and exchanging warm handshakes.
A snippet from the clip showed Prime Minister Narendra Modi sipping tea with Putin and Xi, as the trio was seen engaged in discussions. The video also featured a cordial moment between PM Modi and Iran’s President Pezeshkian,
with the two leaders seen embracing each other.
The Prime Minister was seen sharing smiles with Xi and Putin. He was seen holding the hands of the two leaders. At one point, PM Modi and the Russian leader were seen looking at a floral rangoli at the venue.
As the clip proceeds, the Prime Minister along with the Chinese President were seen admiring a traditional Indian painting.
PM Modi was also captured speaking to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, with the two leaders sharing smiles.
BRICS Summit 2026
The 18th BRICS Summit, which was held on September 12-13 at Bharat Mandapam, saw the presence of various foreign dignitaries, including, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto among others.
In an address at the BRICS Summit, PM Modi said that the “weaponisation of technology and critical minerals” could hinder shared progress and prosperity.
Expressing concern over the current geopolitical situation, the Prime Minister noted that increasing global tensions are adversely impacting ordinary lives globally.
PM Modi stressed that BRICS nations must unite to address these challenges and drive inclusive growth, particularly across the Global South.
