Fresh off the success of Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha, actor Adivi Sesh has now expressed his admiration for filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s recently released film Main Vaapas Aaunga. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sesh shared a heartfelt note praising the film, calling it one of Imtiaz Ali’s finest works and a celebration of timeless love, human connection and hope.
Featuring an ensemble cast led by Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, Vedang Raina, and Rajat Kapur, Main Vaapas Aaunga has been generating significant conversation among audiences and cinephiles alike. Joining the growing chorus of appreciation, Sesh described the film as “a modern-day classic about an era gone by” and lauded its exploration of relationships across generations.
In his post,
Sesh wrote, “#MaiVaapasAaunga is a Modern Day Classic about an Era Gone by. Truly one of #ImtiazAli sir’s best films, this story reflects the pinnacle of his ideas – relationships across eras, tender moments that remain forever, and most importantly, the belief in the human yearning to want love, to give it, that LOVE is bigger than any amount of hate that the world can throw at us.”

The Major and Dacoit actor went on to praise the performances across the board, highlighting Diljit Dosanjh’s charisma, Vedang Raina’s promising presence, and the impactful work of Sharvari and Rajat Kapur. However, it was veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah who left the strongest impression on Sesh. Calling Shah the emotional core of the film, Sesh wrote that no amount of praise could do justice to the veteran actor’s nuanced and layered performance, describing it as a true masterclass in acting.
He also applauded A.R. Rahman’s evocative score, which he felt elevated the film’s emotional journey and congratulated producers Shibasish Sarkar, Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Window Seat Films, and Mohit Choudhary for backing what he described as a gem of a film.
Speaking further about the film, Adivi Sesh said, “What stayed with me long after the film ended was its sincerity. In a time when stories often move at a breakneck pace, Main Vaapas Aaunga takes the courage to pause, reflect, and celebrate human emotions. Imtiaz Ali sir has always had a unique ability to capture love in its most vulnerable and honest form, and this film is a beautiful reminder of that. It’s rare to watch a film that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable at the same time. I walked away moved, inspired, and grateful as a viewer.”
Known for championing strong storytelling himself through films like Kshanam, Goodachari, Major, HIT: The Second Case, and most recently Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha, Sesh’s appreciation for Main Vaapas Aaunga reflects the growing admiration the film is receiving from both audiences and members of the film fraternity.
