The fifth and final T20I between India and South Africa got underway with some fireworks from the men-in-blue. The opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson took the South African attack to the cleaners, stitching a 63-run opening partnership. But the play was halted briefly after on-field umpire Rohan Pandit got hit on the leg and fell in pain.
It was the 9th over when Samson struck Donovan Ferreira straight down the ground. The bowler looked to grab the ball, but it burst through his hands and deflected onto the umpire’s knee. Pandit was down on the ground immediately, grimacing in pain.

The South African rushed into the ground to attend the wriggling umpire, further joined by the Indian physio as well. A spray was applied to the affected area, while Harshit Rana was also seen providing fluids.
