A packed crowd at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio, witnessed an exciting episode of the WWE SmackDown on Friday, September 19. The show featured multiple intense battles that gave the fans plenty to savour as the build-up to the WWE’s newest PLE, WrestlePalooza, intensified. Brock Lesnar’s arrival and warning for John Cena and Sami Zayn’s defence match for the United States Championship against Carmelo Hayes hogged most of the limelight but the rest of the night wasn’t short of action.

Brock Lesnar Arrives, Sends John Cena A Message
The WWE raised the excitement levels ahead of
WrestlePalooza’s much-anticipated fight between legends John Cena and Brock Lesnar with a segment where The Beast arrived in stunning fashion. While Michael Cole initially looked set to interview him backstage, Lesnar came out and picked up Cole on his shoulders before carrying him to the ring. A scared Cole pleaded for mercy against Lesnar but received the F-5 instead. Lesnar then grabbed the camera and directly addressed Cena, saying, “It’s D Day tomorrow. I’m coming for blood.”
Sami Zayn Overcomes Carmelo Hayes
Heading into the clash for the United States Championship, Zayn hammered Rey Fenix at last week’s SmackDown, while Hayes paired up brilliantly with Trick Williams to overcome DIY at NXT’s previous episode. The two wrestlers were in form and played aggressively from the beginning.
Hayes came up with a DropKick to announce his arrival against the titleholder and then produced a springboard leg drop on Zayn. A series of powerful moves helped Zayn forge a strong comeback and remind everyone why he bags the prized silverware. The champion ultimately retained his belt when he unleashed a Blue Thunder Bomb and secured his victory.
Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker Defeat Fraxiom
After defeating LA Knight and Jimmy Uso at Monday Night Raw on September 15, the powerpacked pairing of Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker flexed their muscles against the Fraxiom duo of Nathan Fraser and Axiom. The Fraxiom weren’t short of confidence after pulling off a win versus Los Garzas at last week’s SmackDown but they couldn’t quite match up to the intensity and strength of the Bron ‘n Bron Connection. Reed and Breakker dominated their opponents throughout. In the dying moments, Reed executed a pinfall following a Tsunami and bagged a comfortable win for his team.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss Overcome Alba Fyre and Chelsea Green
In the other exciting tag team tussle for the night, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss joined hands against Alba Fyre and Chelsea Green. The two teams came up with some powerful moves and refused to give up their ground easily. Fyre yanked Flair off the apron, denying her a tag to Bliss. But when Bliss eventually entered the ring, she absolutely hammered her two opponents. It proved to be a decisive turnaround in the contest, which Flair and Bliss ultimately won.
