Mahisagar (Gujarat), Aug 13 (PTI) Two children, who were cousins, were killed after a wall of a mud house collapsed on them in Mahisagar district of Gujarat on Thursday morning, police said.
“The incident occurred in Khata village, where a four-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy, who were cousins, were playing inside the mud house when its wall suddenly collapsed on them,” Virpur sub-inspector A K Bariya said.
The minors died after getting buried under the caved-in wall, he said.
Local residents suspect the wall weakened due to moisture caused by continuous rainfall in the area over the past few days.
Virpur town in Mahisagar district recorded 44 mm of rainfall between 6 am and 6 pm on Thursday, according to data released by the State Emergency
Operation Centre in Gandhinagar.
Police have registered an accidental death report and further investigation was underway. PTI KVM RSY
