It’s time to revisit your school science textbooks once again and read the chapter on evolution. Reason? Spiritual leader Swami Aniruddhacharya has challenged the theory of evolution developed by celebrated
British naturalist and biologist Charles Darwin. For context: Internet sensation Aniruddhacharya, also known as Pookie Baba, has once again come under fire for his controversial remark on this fact. A video of Aniruddhacharya critiquing Darwin’s theory at a podcast has resurfaced on Reddit, sparking widespread discussion.
In the clip, the spiritual guru said, “Darwin ne keh diya hum bandar ke santan hai. Darwin ne kuyn kaha? Kuynki Darwin jiss desh se aata hai uss desh mei kisike baap confirm hi nahi hai. (Darwin said we are descendants of monkeys. Why did Darwin say that? Because in the country Darwin comes from, no one’s father is ever certain).”
Swami Aniruddhacharya Questions The Foundations Of Darwinian Evolution
Aniruddhacharya added that girls in foreign countries have their freedom in early adulthood. “Thode din iske sath, thode din uske sath. Pata nhi kiska baccha hai? Toh Darwin thik keh rha hai ki bandar ke santan hai kuynki darin ke baap ka paata hi nahi hai (A few days with this one, a few days with that another. Who knows whose child it is? So Darwin was right when he said we are descendants of monkeys, because even Darwin doesn’t know who his father is.)”
Justifying his statement, Aniruddhacharya emphasised that it was the reason why Darwin’s theory is irrelevant in India.
The only edge an idiot has over a wise man is that he can say anything without thinking!

Internet Slams Aniruddhacharya’s Evolution Statement
“It all started when people started sharing his dumb videos on Instagram, calling him Pookie Baba,” wrote a disappointed user. “The people who believe him are more insane than this guy,” criticised another. “Genius”, commented an individual sarcastically.
Interestingly, Charles Darwin, in his book The Descent of Man, published in 1871, did not mention that humans directly evolved from apes. He merely pointed out that humans and apes have a common ancestor, highlighting that the similarities between mammals, fish, birds and reptiles suggested that all life forms were related. This means that they actually evolved through various genetic mutations.
