Public leaders are often seen moving with heavy security and long convoys, staying far from everyday life. But one young MLA from Sikkim is being noticed for doing the opposite. A recent video shows him walking calmly through a crowded area without guards or special treatment. The clip has caught people’s attention not because of power or position, but because of how normal and relaxed the moment feels, offering a rare look at leadership that blends quietly into daily life.
The video has sparked conversations about humility in public office and how leadership can look very different across regions.
How The Clip Captures A Rare Public Moment
The video opens in what appears to be a busy market or fairground. People are walking around, stalls are set
up, and balloons and lights are in the background. The atmosphere feels lively, with families and visitors moving freely through the space.
A man recording the video speaks directly to the camera and says, “I’ll show you how an MLA from Sikkim roams around.” He then turns the camera toward two men walking ahead in the crowd. One of them is wearing a cap and moving casually, without any visible security around him.
As the camera follows them, another man in a red shirt steps closer to the person filming. Pointing toward the man in the cap, he says, “This man in a cap is an MLA from Sikkim, can you believe it?” The MLA hears this, smiles briefly, and continues walking without stopping or reacting further.
There is no special attention, no crowd gathering, and no attempt to stand out. He blends into the surroundings like any other person visiting the area.
What The Caption Says About Leadership in Sikkim
The video is shared with a caption that explains why this moment stood out to the person filming. It reads, “Sir Erung Tenzing Lepcha ji is the youngest MLA in Sikkim, yet what truly stands out is his simplicity. I have always seen him approachable and friendly, no security, no show-off, just calm and grounded. Not just him, I have met many senior officers and politicians in Sikkim, and honestly, it’s hard to even recognise who holds what position. Everyone carries themselves with such humility and simplicity.”
The post ends with a line reading, “This down-to-earth culture is what makes Sikkim truly special and inspiring.”
