Chennai, Sep 4 (PTI) A spectacular multi-activity display of graduating army officers was held at the OTA here on Friday unfolding a seamless and invigorating exhibition of physical training prowess.
The event highlighted the Academy’s commitment to excellence in physical fitness. It was followed by a riveting display of the Army Martial Art Regime (AMAR), showcasing the Indian Army’s might in unarmed combat.
“The multi-activity display was organised at the Indian Army’s premier institute in Chennai, the Officers Training Academy, as a prelude to Passing Out Parade of Officer Cadets. Lieutenant General Michael A J Fernandez, Commandant, OTA, was the chief guest for the event,” a release here said.
Equestrian display, martial art form – Kalaraipayattu
– and bunker bursting drill by the Officer Cadets, who will be graduating from the OTA on Saturday and formally join the Indian Army at various units, were also part of the event.
