Yuvraj Singh Makes Bold Prediction About Vaibhav Sooryavanshi: 'What I Like About Him Is...'

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who made his IPL debut as a 14-year-old for Rajasthan Royals in April 2025 and took the league by storm by scoring a 35-ball century (against Gujarat Giants in Jaipur on April 28), the fastest by an Indian in the league’s history, is playing for the India U19 team in the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2026 these days. He has played three matches so far for the Ayush Mhatre-led side and, with the help of one half-century (72), has scored a total of 114 runs.

Vaibhav, who has become a household name in India for his heroics with the bat at such a young age, will be a key player for India in the ongoing tournament, and his form with the bat in the coming matches will have a big say in India’s result.

Six round of the age group tournament, where India will face Zimbabwe (on January 27) and Pakistan (on February 1), former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has praised Vaibhav and also made a bold prediction about him.

According to the Player Of The Series in the 2011 ODI World Cup, Sooryavanshi is a great talent, and he likes his fearless approach.

“I think Vaibhav is a great talent. He’s pretty fearless in his approach. You know, when he’s consistent against strong teams, this is where he will realise his talent. What I like about him is his fearless approach. And I’ve seen him batting in the nets against some really premium fast bowlers. And he’s not afraid to hook or pull the ball when the ball is actually travelling fast around his neck. This is where I see a lot of potential for his future for India,” Yuvraj said in a video shared by ICC on Instagram.

Vaibhav, who is the youngest batter to score a half-century in the U19 World Cup history, has 1087 runs to his credit in 21 youth ODIs played so far. In those 21 matches, he has smacked 86 sixes and 83 fours.

In India’s last U19 World Cup 2026 match against New Zealand, he opened the innings with Aaron George in the 136-run chase at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo and, with the help of two fours and three sixes, scored 40 runs from just 23 balls.
