The holy city of Ayodhya is soon to welcome a new landmark with the construction of National Unity Square in the Sardar Patel Nagar ward. The project aims to enhance the city’s visual appeal while standing as a powerful symbol of India’s unity and integrity.
The initial budget for the National Unity Square has been fixed at Rs 20 lakh, with provisions to increase the allocation if required. The square will be developed in a modern, well-planned and visually attractive manner.
Design Concept And Key Attractions
As part of the design, one section of the square will feature a map of India, while other sections will display political and geographical maps. These installations will highlight the nation’s geographical spread, political structure and cultural unity, offering visitors
an engaging and informative experience.
Once completed, the National Unity Square is expected to become a major point of interest for both residents and tourists visiting Ayodhya. The square will serve as a space that blends learning, reflection and civic pride.
Existing Square To Be Upgraded
Municipal Commissioner Jayendra Kumar confirmed that an existing square in the Sardar Patel Nagar ward will be upgraded and transformed into the National Unity Square. He emphasised that the initiative goes beyond beautification and is designed to be educational and inspirational.
According to the commissioner, the square will offer people an opportunity to understand India’s unity and diversity more closely. Through its design and displays, the project aims to instil a sense of national awareness and pride among visitors.
Facilities And Public Amenities
The square will be equipped with essential amenities for devotees and citizens, including seating arrangements, proper lighting, cleanliness measures, safe walking paths and landscaped green areas.
These improvements are also expected to ease traffic movement and provide a comfortable space for relaxation.
A Step Towards Ayodhya’s Modern Development
The National Unity Square is seen as a significant milestone in Ayodhya’s ongoing urban development. Alongside its deep religious identity, the addition of modern symbols reflecting national consciousness is expected to further strengthen the city’s image.
Local residents believe such projects will play a crucial role in shaping Ayodhya into a modern city that seamlessly connects cultural heritage, religious significance and national awareness, making it more vibrant and inclusive for future generations.
