News, Rains Today Live Updates: The Southwest Monsoon advanced, covering additional parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan, the remaining areas of Uttar Pradesh, the entire Delhi region, and most parts of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), conditions remain favourable for the monsoon to advance further in the coming days.
The IMD also said strong westerly winds are likely to persist over southern peninsular and central India until July 8.
An orange alert has been issued for some parts of Maharashtra, with moderate to heavy rainfall expected.
