WPL 2026:Royal Challengers Bengaluru Vs Gujarat Giants – Highlights
GG began their chase with Beth Mooney (27) hitting Lauren Bell (3/29) for a boundary off the first ball, while Sophie Devine also made an impact by smashing Linsey Smith for two boundaries in the following over.
Mooney displayed her attacking prowess, hitting Bell over mid-off for a six and then striking two consecutive fours off the final two balls of the over to keep GG’s momentum going.
RCB made the first breakthrough in the next over when Devine was caught and bowled by Arundhati Reddy. Patil then delivered a significant blow to GG by dismissing Mooney, who was trapped LBW. GG faced another setback when skipper Ashleigh Gardner was caught by Richa Ghosh off Bell.
Kanika Ahuja (16) showed determination by hitting back-to-back fours before falling LBW to Patil. Wickets continued to fall regularly for GG, with Georgia Wareham the next to depart as the scoreboard read 70 for 5.
Bharti Fulmali (39 off 20 balls) was the top-scorer for GG, but it wasn’t enough.
“I would love to give the credit to Radha because if not for her innings, I don’t think we would have put that total up on the board. I’m really happy the way Richa and Radha contributed in the first innings, knowing there were four down, we were 44 for 4, and then to just play those innings, I think it’s a massive impact, and it gave us a lot of confidence seeing that 170-180 on the board,” Shreyanka Patil said after the match.
Other Performers As RCB Beat GG
Radha Yadav and Richa Ghosh saved Royal Challengers Bengaluru from an early collapse, steering the team to a competitive 182/7. After being asked to bat, RCB started well as Grace Harris hit four boundaries off Renuka Singh in the opening over. However, her aggressive innings was short-lived as Kashvee Gautam dismissed her with a sharp inswinger. Gautam then removed D Hemalatha, while Renuka bounced back to dismiss skipper Smriti Mandhana, thanks to a brilliant catch from Rajeshwari Gayakwad.
RCB found themselves in trouble at 43 for 4 within six overs when Gautami Naik fell to Sophie Devine. Radha Yadav then shifted the momentum with confident strokeplay against Georgia Wareham, hitting both boundaries and sixes. Richa Ghosh joined her, and the pair steadily rebuilt the innings before accelerating. Yadav reached her fifty off 36 balls, with Ghosh providing solid support. Together, they added 105 runs to lift RCB to a strong total.
