The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted searches at 18 locations across Karnataka and Maharashtra, including the residences of Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi and his daughter Priyanka Jharkiholi, an MP, in a money laundering case.
The searches began early Wednesday morning, with ED officials carrying out inspections at multiple locations. The teams were accompanied by personnel from central forces.
ED officials conducted searches at the minister’s government residence in Sadashivanagar and his residence in Dollars Colony. Satish Jarkiholi’s residences in Belagavi town and Gokak were also searched.
His daughter Priyanka Jarkiholi’s premises were also covered as part of the searches.
The ED headquarters clarified that the raids
against Satish Jarkiholi and his daughter Priyanka Jarkiholi are related to a fresh case and are not connected to the case involving Manjunath.
Who Is Manjunath?
Manjunath, a relative of Minister Satish Jarkiholi, is originally from Harapanahalli in Ballari and is currently serving as the Additional Commissioner of Excise, Belagavi Division.
Manjunath is the husband of Mahadevi, the younger sister of Minister Satish Jarkiholi.
He was earlier a PSI and later cleared the KAS examination before joining the Excise Department.
The ED had conducted raids at locations linked to Manjunath a few days ago.
Allegations Against Manjunath
The Enforcement Directorate registered a case based on an FIR registered by the Lokayukta.
The allegations against Manjunath include systematic corruption in the Excise Department, including taking bribes for issuing and renewing liquor shop licences.
There are also allegations of collecting a fixed amount every month from each bar, illegal foreign money transfers and hawala links.
The allegations further include acquiring bars and properties in benami names and accumulating illegal assets.
On June 24, 2026, ED officials from Bengaluru and Goa conducted searches at 14 locations across the state.
The searches included Manjunath’s residence at TV Centre in Belagavi, his residence in Dattagalli, Mysuru, and the Summit Apartments on Race Course Road in Bengaluru.
The searches continued for more than 24 hours, following which Manjunath was taken into custody.
What Was Seized During The Raids?
According to the ED’s statement, the searches resulted in the seizure of Rs 5.5 crore in cash, gold worth Rs 7.8 crore, foreign currency worth Rs 3.3 lakh and movable assets worth a total of Rs 13.30 crore.
The agency also seized documents related to benami bars, a diary containing details of alleged bribe transactions, digital devices and bank locker documents. Manjunath’s residence in Doordarshan Nagar, Belagavi, was also searched during the earlier raids.
