After suffering defeats in Perth and Adelaide, India made a couple of changes for the inconsequential third ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday. They benched allrounder Nitish
Kumar Reddy and fast bowler Arshdeep Singh and included Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna instead.
Reddy had played a good hand in the rain-affected first ODI to help India post a decent total but managed just eight in the second. He was wicketless in both the fixtures.
However, the 22-year-old hasn’t been rested or dropped due on the basis of performances but has ended up sustaining an injury and is currently being monitored by BCCI’s medical team.
“Nitish Kumar Reddy sustained a left quadriceps injury during the second ODI in Adelaide and was subsequently unavailable for selection for the third ODI. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring him on a daily basis,” BCCI posted on X (formerly Twitter).
