US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, on Sunday met Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal and discussed economic ties between the US and India. The discussion was also held on increased investment in the United
States.
Taking to X, US Ambassador To India shared a picture of the meeting and wrote, “During my visit to India, I met with Commerce Secretary Agrawal and discussed U.S.- India economic ties, including increased investment in the United States.”

Gor, on Saturday, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and affirmed that the relations between both the nations will continue to strengthen. In a post on X, Gor said, “An honor to be with PM Narendra Modi this evening. Our relationship with India will only strengthen over the months ahead!”
Gor, who is on a six-day visit, also met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and held talks on various topics, including critical minerals. He arrived in New Delhi on October 11.
“We hit the ground running. We had a great series of including with Foreign Secretary Misri, with the External Affairs Minister, Dr. Jaishankar, and with the National Security Advisor, Doval. And we just finished an incredible meeting with Prime Minister Modi, where we discussed bilateral issues, including defense, trade, technology. We also discussed the importance of critical minerals and the importance of that to both of our nations,” he said.
Gor’s visit is crucial amid the prevailing tensions between India and US over Washington’s imposition of 50 per cent tariffs on Indian exports and a host of other measures taken by the Trump administration that hit Indian interests.
