A Bengaluru woman expressed her frustration over the city’s infamous Ejipura flyover with a hilarious post on Tuesday, October 14. She highlighted the prolonged delays witnessed in the project and the angst it continues to cause to the locals amusingly. The woman revealed she was pregnant when she moved to Koramangala and now has an eight-year-old son, but the flyover work hasn’t finished yet.
“No joke I moved to Koramangala pregnant and my son is now almost 8 and they’ve been building the flyover since before he was born to now when he’s in 2nd standard,” she wrote on X in a witty comment on another post by a fellow Bengaluru local.

In a satirical take, this man called the flyover a “historical monument”, while announcing that the remaining construction work on the project has finally resumed. He humorously remarked, “Ejipura Flyover has finally resumed construction. A historical day not just for Bangalore but also for us who have grown up with this historical monument. Our forefathers started work on this centuries ago… There was even an episode on MythBusters claiming it was built by aliens.”
About the Ejipura Flyover
Planned by the Karnataka state road authorities to ease the traffic congestion in the bustling Koramangala area, the Ejipura Flyover has been under construction since 2017. The project was originally assigned to Simplex Infrastructure before their contract was terminated in 2022, with just over 40 per cent of the work completed. In November 2023, BSCPL Infrastructure Ltd took over the project. From the beginning, the project has witnessed repeated delays. The authorities currently have a completion target of March 2026 for the flyover.
Internet Users Relate With The Woman’s Post
The woman’s candid post on the Ejipura Flyover, reinforcing the prolonged delays and frustration endured by the local travellers in the busy Koramangala area, struck a chord online.“Maybe your son will grow up to be an engineer and finish the project,” quipped a user, suggesting that maybe the woman’s son will grow up to finish the project eventually.
Someone shared a similar story, saying, “My wife was pregnant when the Metro Yellow Line work started. The project finally opened when my daughter reached 3rd standard. At this rate, she might finish her double degree before the Ejipura flyover is completed.”
“Looking forward to the grand inauguration when your grandchild is in 2nd standard,” commented an individual.
While funny, the post reflected poorly on the authorities and the concerned companies to which the project has been awarded since it was originally planned. The story reiterated Bengaluru’s longstanding infrastructure and traffic challenges.
