Sometimes, the most meaningful stories about stars don’t come from film sets or box office numbers, but from quiet acts of kindness that happen far away from the spotlight. One such story has now been shared by popular TV anchor Suma Kanakala, who spoke about Prabhas’ long-term support for an old-age home in Khammam. Her words have struck a chord online, offering a glimpse into a side of the actor that fans don’t often get to see.
The topic came up when a fan asked Suma, in the comments section of one of her videos, to talk about Prabhas. Instead of a routine compliment, Suma chose to share a personal experience that highlighted his generosity and consistency. She described him as kind-hearted and pointed out how rare it is for actors to continue
helping a cause quietly for years.
Suma revealed that a few years ago, she was involved in helping build an old-age home in Khammam. During the construction phase, several celebrities stepped forward to support the project. Writing in the comments, she shared, “a few years ago me i helped in the construction of khammam old age home. Pavan kalyan garu, prabhas garu and many other celebrities generously helped in the completion of the old age home.”
What stood out for Suma, however, was what happened after the building was completed. She said that Prabhas has continued to support the home by sending a fixed amount every month to help with its running and to support the elderly residents. Speaking about this ongoing commitment, she wrote, “But ever since then prabhas garu has been consistently supporting the old age home by sending a monthly amount to elders. I really acknowledge his kind heart, it is very rarely that we get to see such a contribution since years.” She also mentioned Lakshmi Manchu’s contribution through the Memu Saitham show, adding, “Meemu saitham show, thanks to laxmi manchu garu too.”
This isn’t the first time Prabhas’ involvement with the old-age home has been spoken about. A couple of months ago, Suma’s husband, actor Rajeev Kanakala, also mentioned it during an appearance on the Mahaa Max podcast. He revealed that filmmaker SS Rajamouli had donated as well and praised Prabhas’ continued support, saying, “The great thing about Prabhas is that he still donates money for running the old age home. Hats off to him.”
On the work front, Prabhas was last seen in Adipurush and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire in 2023, followed by Kalki 2898 AD in 2024. He is next set to appear in The Raja Saab, which is scheduled for a Sankranthi release on January 9, 2026. The actor is also working on Fauzi, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, and Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
