26-year-old Ayush Badoni has been associated with Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL since 2022, and on Thursday, April 9, he joined the record books by becoming the second Indian batter to score 1000 runs in the Indian Premier League for LSG. The right-handed batter from Delhi needed 25 runs in the IPL 2026 match between LSG and Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata to join the 1000-run club, and he achieved the objective in the 12th over of LSG’s innings in the 182-run chase.
KL Rahul was the first batter to score 1000 runs in the IPL for LSG. The 33-year-old right-handed batter from Bengaluru, who was signed by LSG ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, played 38 IPL matches for the Lucknow-based franchise from 2022 to 2024 and amassed a total of 1410
runs.

Former West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran joined him in the elite list last year, and now Badoni has also joined the 1000-run club.

Badoni, who is yet to make his international debut for the Indian men’s cricket team, is the first uncapped player to score 1000 runs in IPL for LSG. The ongoing IPL 2026 match between KKR and LSG in Kolkata is Badoni’s 59th IPL game as a Lucknow Super Giants player, and he has scored 6 half-centuries so far.

In the ongoing season of the IPL, Badoni has played all three matches for the Lucknow-based franchise and has scored 39* runs so far. In 2025, he amassed a total of 329 runs in 11 innings of 14 matches, and in the first three editions for LSG, he scored 161, 238 and 235 runs.
The record for scoring the most runs by an uncapped player in the IPL is in the name of Prabhsimran Singh. 25-year-old Prabhsimran has played 54 IPL matches so far for Punjab Kings and has 1385 runs to his name. In the 2025 edition of the IPL, he played 17 matches for Shreyas Iyer’s men and scored 549 runs.
