The controversy between Asim Riaz and his former girlfriend Himanshi Khurana has once again grabbed attention after Roadies fame Bhavya Singh made fresh claims about the former couple. Bhavya spoke about the matter during a podcast with Telly Chakkar, where she claimed that Himanshi has CCTV footage from a hotel involving Asim. She alleged that the footage shows Asim getting physical with Himanshi.
Bhavya said, “It’s a CCTV footage of a hotel where he is pulling and pushing her in the lift and slapping her.”
Himanshi had earlier said on social media that she had evidence to support the allegations she made about her relationship with Asim. She claimed that she had CCTV footage and recordings and said she was ready to share the facts. She also
mentioned a particular morning in November 2023 while responding to Asim’s comments about proof.
The issue came up after Himanshi appeared on Paras Chhabra’s podcast and spoke about her relationship with Asim and their breakup. She discussed the religious differences between them and also alleged that she faced violence during the relationship.
Asim has denied Himanshi’s allegations. He also denied asking her to change her religion and questioned the claims made against him. He further responded by saying that he had encouraged Himanshi to work out and focus on fitness.
The latest claims by Bhavya have added to the ongoing dispute. However, the alleged CCTV footage has not been made public and Bhavya’s claims about the footage have not been independently verified.
Following Bhavya’s comments, Asim has now issued a formal cease-and-desist legal notice to her and the concerned media outlets through his lawyer, Adv. Suhail Shariff, Partner at Falcon Legal. According to the notice, Asim has called the statements made about him false and unverified. He has also said that they have harmed his reputation, public image and professional standing.
The notice asks Bhavya to stop making or repeating any defamatory or legally actionable statements about Asim. The concerned media outlets have also been asked to remove the podcast and related content.
Adv. Suhail Shariff, Partner at Falcon Legal, said, “Our client will not permit any defamatory or legally actionable statements against him. A formal cease-and-desist notice has been issued, and appropriate legal action shall follow in case of non-compliance.”
The recipients have been given 72 hours to comply with the notice. If they fail to do so, Asim’s legal team has warned that legal proceedings may be initiated before the competent courts and authorities.
Asim has also reserved all rights, claims and legal remedies available to him under the law.
