WPL 2026: Delhi Capitals Vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru – Live
Shafali delivered an outstanding batting performance, scoring 62 off 41 balls, with valuable contributions from Lucy Hamilton and Sneh Rana, helping Delhi Capitals reach a competitive total of 166 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 11th match of the WPL 2026 at the DY Patil
Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Saturday.
At one stage, DC appeared to be heading for a low score, struggling to reach 100. However, a combination of aggressive batting and crucial lower-order contributions turned the game around.
After Smriti Mandhana won the toss and opted to bowl, RCB started strongly. Lauren Bell made an impressive impact by dismissing Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolvaardt in the first over, putting DC in trouble. The situation worsened when Sayali Satghare, playing in place of Ellyse Perry, marked her RCB debut in the WPL with a remarkable double-wicket over, removing Jemimah Rodrigues and Marizanne Kapp on consecutive balls. With wickets falling rapidly, DC faced significant challenges during the powerplay and middle overs.
Shafali Verma revived the innings with an aggressive approach, building a crucial 59-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Niki Prasad to stabilise the innings while keeping the runs flowing. Shafali then formed an essential 34-run partnership for the seventh wicket with Sneh Rana, ensuring DC did not lose momentum. During this spell, Shafali reached her seventh WPL half-century, eventually scoring 62 runs off 41 balls.
Lucy Hamilton provided a late boost by scoring a brisk 36 off just 19 balls, pushing DC past the 150-run mark and towards a competitive total. DC were ultimately bowled out on the last ball of the innings.
