A 26-year-old NEET-PG aspirant allegedly died by suicide on Saturday after consuming a poisonous substance at a private hostel in Telangana’s Hyderabad. The incident occurred just a day before the medical entrance exam, scheduled to be held today, August 30.
Police told CNN-News18 that Yashwitha was a native of Kadapa District in Andhra Pradesh. She had been suffering from depression since her Intermediate days. After completing her undergraduate studies, she had been preparing for the NEET-PG entrance examination for the past few months.
According to police, she left a suicide note, stating that she had been suffering from the mental health condition and that she was unable to overcome it.
Subsequently, a case was registered at the Chikkadpally
Police Station. An investigation into the incident is underway.
