Rajasthan Royals reclaimed their place at the top of the IPL 2026 table with a 6-run win over Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday as the former champions registered a total of 210/6 riding on half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel, before limiting GT to 204/8 as Ravi Bishnoi starred with a four-year.
RR posted a total of 210, built around Dhruv Jurel’s 75 and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 55, while 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added a brisk 31 from 18 balls. Rabada claimed 2 wickets, while Mohammed Siraj, Ashok Sharma, Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan chipped in with a wicket apiece for the Gujarat Titans
In reply, Gujarat Titans’ Sai Sudharsan and Kumar Kushagra, playing in place of injured skipper Shubman
Gill, gave the hosts a blazing start as Jofra Archer opened with an expensive over. The GT openers surged to fifty in the powerplay while RR searched for ways to contain them.
Sai raced to his half-century with a flurry of boundaries as the Titans maintained a rapid scoring rate, but RR skipper Riyan Parag brought himself into the attack to remove Kushagra, with Shimron Hetmyer holding on to the catch.
Jos Buttler then joined Sai, and the pair took GT into triple figures before Ravi Bishnoi dismissed Sai for 73 off 44 deliveries.
The crafty spinner further rattled GT by removing Glenn Phillips and Washington Sundar for 3 and 4 respectively, giving the Royals a route back into the contest. Nandre Burger then struck to dismiss the dangerous Buttler, putting the Gujarat chase under even more pressure.
Rahul Tewatia fell to Bishnoi as the leg-spinner claimed his fourth wicket of the night, and Ravindra Jadeja ran Shahrukh Khan out to deepen GT’s troubles.
Kagiso Rabada and Rashid Khan dragged the game deep, the South African and Afghan star striking a couple of timely boundaries to keep the chase alive after the middle-order collapse. However, Tushar Deshpande delivered an outstanding final over to restrict GT to 6 runs short of the target.
