It also stands out as the world’s first fully solar-powered airport. The airport was inaugurated in 1999 and since then, it has been serving as a crucial spot for international travel and cargo transport.

Calicut International Airport

Calicut International Airport primarily caters to Gulf-bound passengers from the Malabar region. It plays a crucial role in the expatriate-driven economy and supports food exports and pilgrimage travel.
