In the match taking place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi against Delhi Capitals, the 35-year-old right-handed batter from Mumbai walked out to bat at No. 4 and scored 51 runs from 36 balls. During his stay at the crease, Suryakumar hammered 3 fours and 2 sixes for the Mumbai-based team and added 53 runs from 40 balls for the third wicket with Rohit Sharma, who made 35 runs from 26 balls. The two sixes by Surya on Saturday in Delhi helped him join Rohit and Kieron Pollard in an elite list of batters. Surya is the third cricketer to hit 150 sixes for the Mumbai Indians.

He had earlier smashed his first six of the match on the first ball of the eighth over of MI’s innings bowled by Axar Patel.
The record of hitting most sixes for MI in T20s is in the name of Rohit Sharma. Rohit, who hit one six on Saturday as well, overall has 274 sixes to his credit in 238 matches for MI. Pollard is second on the list with 258 sixes in 211 matches.
