The online application process for the Bihar School Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE 4.0) has been postponed.
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) was scheduled to begin the online application process from September 1, 2026, for the recruitment of 32,388 school teachers under the Education Department. However, the process has now been put on hold due to procedural changes.
The announcement was made through an official notice issued in connection with Advertisement No. 14/2026. The notice stated that the prescribed procedure for submitting online applications, which was scheduled to begin on September 1, has been postponed.
“Advertisement No.-14/2026, the prescribed procedure for submitting online applications for the appointment to a total
of 32,388 vacant posts of school teachers under the School Teachers Recruitment Examination (TRE-4.0) of the fourth phase under the Education Department, Bihar, which was proposed to commence from date 01.09.2026, is hereby postponed due to procedural changes. The announcement of the date related to the said advertisement will be made shortly,” BPSC posted on X (formerly twitter).

The commission has not yet announced a new date for the start of the online application process. According to the notice, the revised date will be announced shortly.
Candidates have demanded the release the fresh date for the application process. Taking to X, one user stated, “The advertisement for BPSC TRE 4 should be issued at the earliest, the application process should be started, and a clear calendar of the dates for the examination and the final result should be announced, so that the confusion of the candidates comes to an end. The entire selection process should be conducted with the highest level of transparency, security, and integrity.”
While another said, “Why are you people repeatedly changing the date like this? After all, what significance will an institution like BPSC be left with? You’ve been carrying on this series since the month of February.”
A few days ago, following protests, the Bihar government agreed to conduct TRE 4.0 in a single phase.
As per the BPSC Calendar 2026, the teacher recruitment examination is slated to be conducted between September 22 and 27, 2026, with the results likely to be declared in November.
