Real Madrid are touted to rope in Jose Mourinho for a second spell incharge of the club if incumbent chief Florentino Perez manages to win the presidential election after years of uncontested reign.
Mourinho, who has won titles with Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Man United and Roma, most recently coached Benfica, the club where he began his managerial career in 2000. He helped the Portuguese side finish third in the league in a season that was notable for being unbeaten.

Benfica confirmed that the Spanish heavyweights would pay them a compensation of 15 million Euros if Mourinho is to make his switch back to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 63-year-old, who previously managed Madrid from 2010 to 2013, is expected to be officially unveiled after the Presidential elections. The decorated manager, whose first stint in the Spanish capital was explosive, is said to have agreed a deal that will keep him at the helm of Los Blancos for three years.
During his initial tenure, Mourinho led Real Madrid to the La Liga title in the 2011/12 season, after winning the Copa del Rey in the previous campaign. He also secured the Supercopa de España in 2012, in a spell marked by his controversial behaviour during heated El Clasico encounters.
Perez will contest the upcoming Presidential election as he seeks to retain the top position of the club’s hierarchy, facing a challenge from Enrique Riquelme.
The 79-year-old incumbent president has been forced into a rare contest, ending his long uncontested spell at the summit of the club’s leadership, as 37-year-old businessman Riquelme, who is also the head of Cox Energy, prepares his bid for the top job.
Real Madrid, who have gone two consecutive seasons without a trophy in the Spanish top flight, are in need of an overhaul to restore the team to its former glory. Mourinho has been entrusted with the task of bringing the dressing room’s superstar egos under control. The club is also expected to offload several players, with Mourinho certain to arrive with his own transfer wish list, amid reports of tension within the Madrid camp.
