Premier League giants Manchester United were held to a 4-4 stalemate by Bournemouth at the Old Trafford on Tuesday in a goal-fest.
Eight different players got on the scoresheet as Amad Diallo, Casemiro,
Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha netted for Ruben Amorim and Co. while Antoine Semenyo, Evanilson, Marcus Tavernier and Eli Junior Kroupi struck for Andoni Iraola’s men.
Diallo gave the hosts the advantage after 13 minutes of play as he headed United ahead, before Semenyo restored parity five minutes from he half-time whistle. However, United managed to take a slender one-goal lead into the break as Casemiro put the ball into the net as he got his head on the the end of a Fernandes’ ball in.
Iraola’s men started the second half with intent as Evanilson levelled straight after resumption of play and went on to take the lead for the first time in the game with a Tavernier free kick.
Fernandes turned scorer to give the Red Devils the lead yet again in the game with a free-kick in the 77th minute of the game to peg the visitors back on level terms, before Cunha gave Amorim’s side an advantage with his strike two minutes later and it looked as though the hosts would hold on or the win.
However, the Cherries rallied back through Kroupi in the 84th minute of the game as Bournemouth left the iconic venue in Manchester with a point to their name.
United climbed to sixth in the table following the result, with 26 points to their name in 16 outings, while Bournemouth stand 13th in the English top-flight with 21 points.
