Kang Seung-yoon Says BTS Star Jin Was ‘Like A God’ During Military Service

BTS and WINNER fans were excited when Jin shared photos with Kang Seung-yoon from their time in the military. Seung-yoon, who completed his service in February and has since returned with a new album, recently opened up about his army days. While he worked hard and earned several awards for his performance, what caught everyone’s attention was his story about Jin. Seung-yoon revealed that Jin served as an assistant instructor when he arrived, and within their unit, many people were inspired by him.

Despite being a global star, Jin earned respect in the army for his discipline and kindness. Seung-yoon shared that Jin even offered him snacks during their service. What surprised fans most was that Jin had contacted Seung-yoon before his enlistment,

encouraging him to apply for an instructor role so they could serve together. However, things didn’t go as planned, and Seung-yoon ended up serving as regular infantry, a fact he still feels a bit sad about.

Kang Seung-yoon Talks About His Bond With Jin During Military

While appearing on Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show, Kang Seung-yoon said, “He was one of the assistant instructors when I entered. In the army system, he was like a god. He’s a world star, but inside the unit, he was also respected as an instructor and he even shared his snacks with me, he gave me a Choco Pie. I was so grateful.”

“We had no relationship before the army. But before I enlisted, he heard I was coming to his unit and he actually contacted me first. He asked if I wanted to apply to be an instructor too. He encouraged me to aim for it so we could work together. I got unlucky. I kept getting assigned elsewhere. I didn’t get instructor duty, didn’t get the military band either, so I just did regular infantry. It still feels a little sad,” the WINNER member added.

Interestingly, even after both idols completed their military service, Jin and Kang Seung-yoon met again on camera. The WINNER member later appeared as a guest on Jin’s talk show, Run Jin.
